SunRISE Center

OPENING MAY 2024!

The SunRISE Center is a non-profit mental health and addiction recovery center. Partnering with other local organizations and volunteers, we offer counseling, classes, and other various forms of support. The RISE in SunRISE Center is an acronym that stands for Reduce death by suicide and overdose, Invite to the Gospel community, Safe in mind and body, and Encourage sober living.

Mental and emotional health challenges often inhibit our community neighbors from experiencing a full and thriving life. Compounded with substance abuse challenges, many people in our community are suffering from issues they simply cannot overcome on their own.

Access to mental and emotional health service is a challenge for most people, and our community is no different. Our neighbors often need a customized, therapeutic approach in their recovery, but with the limited resources available to them it frequently cannot be provided.

We at the SunRISE Center believe the key to life and life abundantly begins with the many challenges that come with mental health and addiction. We see firsthand every day at Feed My Sheep Temple just how important this is for the wellbeing of the community.

In Fall 2022, Feed My Sheep conducted a client survey to determine the need for a mental health facility. 96.2% recognized some sort of mental or emotional health challenge. When asked if they would use an easily accessible facility offering mental health services, 85.8% of respondents said “Yes.”

The new facility will have first class amenities fused with cognitive behavior therapy and talk therapy treatment offered by licensed volunteer counselors and therapists. The inside space will be a calming environment through aesthetics and personal interactions. It will be a place where we can say, “You are safe right now and right here.”

There will be group therapy that will be led by trained volunteers from the community. We aim to have three distinct group therapy options to include: support groups for families with mental health challenges, groups for individuals who have experienced abuse, PTSD, domestic violence or past sexual trauma, and groups for individuals who experience mental health challenges.

None of this is possible without people like you! We are looking for:

  • Licensed professionals who have a heart for volunteering to help our community.

  • Individuals that will volunteer their time during the week.

  • People and organizations willing to invest financially in the SunRISE Center.

  • Churches and organizations to come on board.

  • People to commit to pray for the SunRISE Center.
