At Feed My Sheep, we believe that everyone who comes through our doors enters into a recognition of our shared humanity and need. Our goal is for every need to be met, especially the need for Christ’s love. We believe this need for love is universal and that it exists for all of us at our most basic level. We also view every person who comes to us, whether for assistance or to serve, as our equal in Christ. Our focus is not on the problems people may face, but on people as individuals whom we have the privilege to know, love, and grow with.
In Bell County, tens of thousands of people live every day below the poverty line. This means many of our neighbors aren’t able to make ends meet or sustain basic amenities such as housing, groceries, healthcare, and more.
Our Response
At Feed My Sheep, instead of simply treating the symptoms of poverty over and over, we see and get to know people. This recognition of every person as inherently valuable allows us to focus on relationship building and long-term investment into our community through our mutual need for Christ’s love. Our programs are designed to see people first and we work within that context to meet needs in a meaningful and lasting way.
